Get to know this 6.9-mile out-and-back trail near Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Generally considered a challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are March through October. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

Climb to the top of Mount Olympus and see the fantastic views over the Wasatch Valley and Salt Lake City. This route requires sections of Class 3 scrambling to reach the summit. You'll get great views of Salt Lake City and the surrounding Wasatch Mountains. You will be surprised at how abruptly you leave the bustling city below and find yourself high in an alpine environment. The steep section of Class 3 scrambling begins after you reach the saddle. During the winter, shoulder seasons, or any time when snow or ice is present, traction devices are required. Technical equipment such as crampons training may also be required depending on the conditions. It is recommended to download your offline map ahead of time. Cell service in the area is not reliable. Sections of this route, especially between the saddle and the summit, are not well-marked.
